Events

Courchevel is far more than an exceptional skiing destination; throughout the winter season it pulses with a rich calendar of events that elevate every stay into something truly memorable. Each February and into early March, the resort's night skies are illuminated by the International Festival of Pyrotechnic Art, an annual celebration in which each evening's fireworks display is built around a distinct theme, transforming the mountain darkness into a breathtaking canvas of colour and light. It is widely regarded as one of the most spectacular fireworks festivals in the Alps, and the crisp alpine air only heightens the experience.

For those with a passion for ski sport at the very highest level, Courchevel's credentials are beyond question. In February 2023 the resort hosted the prestigious FIS Alpine World Ski Championships, welcoming the world's finest competitors to its celebrated slopes. The legendary L'Eclipse black piste, which served as a championship course, remains open to guests, offering a rare opportunity to trace the very lines carved by world champions.

A vibrant social spirit runs through Courchevel 1850 each winter in the form of the La Folie Douce Courchevel Festival, a weekend of live music, great food and irresistible dancing set against one of the most dramatic mountain backdrops in the Alps. Artists and music lovers gather in an atmosphere that perfectly captures the joyful, celebratory character of this remarkable resort, making it an event not to be missed during a winter Alpine Collection stay.
