Restaurants
Eating in Cortina is unmistakably Italian: unhurried, generous and built around good ingredients. The town has a long tradition of refined restaurants, from El Toulà, set in an old hay barn above the centre, to SanBrite, where the Gaspari family cook with produce from their own farm in the woods outside town. In the evening the dishes of the Ampezzo valley come to the table, such as casunziei, half-moon pasta filled with beetroot, alongside wines from the Veneto and neighbouring Alto Adige.
Lunch is taken on the mountain. Around the Cinque Torri, the Rifugio Scoiattoli and the Rifugio Averau serve homemade pasta and polenta on terraces facing the rock towers, while the Rifugio Lagazuoi, at around 2,750 metres, looks out over a sea of peaks. When the lifts close, the aperitivo begins: a spritz or a glass of prosecco on the Corso, where half the town seems to gather in the early evening.
Our team knows the restaurants of Cortina well and is happy to book tables, arrange a private chef's evening in your chalet or plan a lunch on the slopes with a ski instructor who knows where to stop.
